It is not often that recently retired NFL QB Tom Brady tags you in a post from a painful memory. The 7-time Super Bowl champion reacted to a tweet by memorabilia connoisseur Darren Rovell who reported the sale of a $69,000 football from Super Bowl LII. It was an item of significance for Brady as it was the ball he threw to his then Patriots TE and best friend Rob Gronkowski to score a touchdown.

Despite them scoring combining to score a touchdown, it wasn’t enough as the Philadelphia Eagles won the game 41-33, upsetting Brady and the New England Patriots. It is one of the greatest moments in Philadelphia Eagles history, while it is a painful memory for the NFL’s greatest quarterback. It’s positive for a Brady fan to see him react in this manner as the quarterback commented with a one-word response: ‘Nice‘.

It was a big blow for the former Patriots and Buccaneers QB, who had a fantastic game recording 505 passing yards, 3 TDs, and 0 INTs. The game was at Brady’s mercy if not for Eagles DE Brandon Graham sacking him. The final play saw a Hail Mary throw which ended up as an incomplete pass and something Brady never forgot long after the game.

The legendary QB, though, went on to win 2 more Super Bowl titles with the Patriots and the Buccaneers franchises. There is no dispute about the greatness of Tom Brady in the NFL, as someone who defied father time and was the king of comebacks. But the Super Bowl LII loss will be something that the city of Philadelphia will always have to brag about when it comes to Brady.
