For the past 23 years, Tom Brady has been at the helm of his professional career. He is not just the best athlete in the NFL but also topped the jersey sales and is one of the hot entities for brand endorsements. But his overall earnings do not justify these achievements. He deliberately takes less amount than his wife, Gisele Bündchen.

The Brazilian Supermodel Gisele Bündchen is one of the highest-paid artists in the world. Her net worth is estimated at around $400 million, which is much higher compared to Brady’s overall life earnings. But there is a reason to justify these figures.

Back in 2019, the then-Patriots quarterback Tom Brady marked his appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel show after winning his sixth Super Bowl title. The host asked why he was paid less and not more compared to other passers in the league. The quarterback made a witty response, saying that pay doesn’t matter to him because his wife earned more, and allowing her to become the main bread earner of the family.

“I think the thing I’ve always felt for me in my life, winning has been a priority. And my wife makes a lot of money. I’m a little smarter than you think.” Brady said on the show.

Well, it was clearly a joke, and Brady didn’t mean it while responding to the question. It was a masterstroke by the master himself to manage the franchise’s salary cap. Brady very well knows that if one person carries a large salary, then other guys will have to compromise on their pay which eventually leads to poor quality in the recruitment of players.

“Actually, it’s a salary cap, and you can only spend so much, and the more one guy gets it’s less for the others,” Brady clarified the whole intention to Kimmel. “And for a competitive advantage standpoint, I like to get a lot of good players around me,” he added.

Apart from salary, Tom Brady made numerous sacrifices

Tom Brady not only makes moves on the field, but he is also a jack of all cards when it comes to management. Despite being at the top, the quarterback managed relationships and the game simultaneously.

However, just like salary cap adjustments, he had to compromise on various things. While speaking in a podcast, Brady mentioned that he couldn’t attend birthday parties, funerals, or wedding ceremonies throughout the journey.

He couldn’t even celebrate Christmas and Thanksgiving parties properly. As they say, nothing comes for free, everything has its price. And Brady paid a large part to maintaining stability in his life.
