At 45, Tom Brady just made it to his 14th straight playoff appearance. First with the New England Patriots and then with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the last three years. And some people can’t help but admire the seven-time Super Bowl champion’s longevity in the league. That included some iconic NFL quarterbacks from multiple generations.
On the latest episode of the Let’s Go Podcast with Jim Gray, Brady had the esteemed company of his childhood hero and former Super Bowl-winning 49ers QB, Steve Young. 2x Super Bowl champion Cowboy Roger Staubach only had a 10-year career in the NFL. Tom Brady has more than doubled that already, and he has no plans of stopping. Of course, Tom is still playing. How old are you now, 60? 65,” Staubach jokingly asked Brady.

Brady may have been referring to the 30-17 loss to the Atlanta Falcons the previous night. It wasn’t much of a do-or-die situation with the Buccaneers already winning the NFC South champions last week with the win against the Carolina Panthers.

Owing to the low importance of the Atlanta game, head coach Todd Bowles made the sensible decision to bench his vulnerable starters ahead of the playoff clash next week against the Dallas Cowboys. Bowles needs Tampa Tom at his best on Monday night.
That’s why it didn’t surprise fans to see backup QB Blaine Gabbert on the field. Even third-string Bucs QB Kyle Trask got a shot in their final regular season fixture. However, many fans and well-wishers were concerned with the TB12 benching and wondered if it was an injury situation. It wasn’t.
