Not many fans or critics expected much from Tom Brady last season. The ageing quarterback ended his 20-year association with Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots in search of a new challenge. Brady signed a 2-year deal with NFC South franchise Tampa Bay Buccaneers and agreed to play under the guidance of HC Bruce Arians.
Brady, who arrived in the NFL in 2000, was determined to prove his doubters wrong in 2020. He did exactly that, and more, as the veteran quarterback led the Buccaneers to the Super Bowl LV title. The Pirates defeated defending champions and favourites, Kansas City Chiefs, by a comprehensive 9-31 scoreline at the Raymond James Stadium in Florida.

In doing so, Brady won ring #7 but maintained that he is still on the hunt for another championship title. But is the 44-year old nearing the end of what has been one of the most successful sporting careers of all time? Here’s what the man himself has to say.

Is Tom Brady planning to cut short his Tampa Bay Buccaneers adventure?
The reigning Super Bowl LV MVP Tom Brady made his first appearance in preseason last week as the Bucs took on the Cincinnati Bengals. But despite the absence of last year’s #1 overall pick Joe Burrow, the Buccaneers fell to a 14-19 loss on home soil. Mr. Brady saw the funny side of the result and took to his official Instagram handle with an interesting post.

Brady joked about his chances of making the Buccaneers starting lineup after the poor display on Sunday. But if we were to be fair, TB12 barely had a role to play against the Bengals. It was backup QBs Blaine Gabbert and Andrew Griffin who featured for the Bucs in the first preseason game of 2021.

GM Jason Licht deserves credit for retaining the core of the Super Bowl-winning team from last season. The likes of Rob Gronkowski, Antonio Brown, Devin White, Mike Evans, and Chris Godwin, will all return in 2021 as the Bucs gear up for what promises to be a thrilling title defnse.
