Former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady might be the greatest when it comes to delivering dramatic game-winning drives on the football field. But off the football field, Brady was unsuccessful in pulling off a dramatic impersonation of Hollywood action movie star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. The 7-time Super Bowl champion was trying to reach out to Johnson for help in endorsing a sports brand.

TB12 teamed up with Under Armour to sell performance-enhancing sleepwear in a hilarious promotional video. By attempting Johnson’s catchphrases, the then Patriots QB was trying to convince him to join due to his experience in the field. But the call seems to have had the opposite effect on Johnson, who couldn’t believe what Brady was trying to pull.
While discussing Brady’s clip in the video, Johnson states, “Sweet tap-dancing baby Jesus. What in the f**k did we just watch? Thomas, what was that? You’re sitting there on some rocks, which I guess that’s supposed to be profound because my name is The Rock, and your legs are open like Kermit the Frog like you’re getting ready to sing ‘Rainbow Connection’ for Christ’s sake.”
An unlikely collision of two worlds including Tom Brady and Dwayne Johnson
Johnson stays in character while continuing to call out how Brady’s attempts to recruit him seemed amateur. He adds by calling out the poor shooting of the video and calls out his editor to be a Jets fan. But later on in the promotional video agrees to promote the brand after correcting Brady’s mistakes.

It appeared to be a fun collaboration between both famous entities from their respective walks of life.
The NFL fans would have been cheering Brady in his first real challenging acting project even for promotional purposes.
While the video was shot in 2017, both Brady and Johnson have gone on to have successful endeavors with the brand. The 2022 NFL campaign will provide the 15-time Pro Bowler with an opportunity to enhance his legacy by extending it to newer heights.
