Talk about comebacks, Tom Brady owns them in the history of the league. And he does them in the G.O.A.T style, they say. Over a 23-year legendary career, there is enough material to point out. However one of the most epic bounce-backs of Brady has to be Super Bowl LI, back in 2017, when he led Patriots against the Atlanta Falcons, showcasing an exceptional performance in the fourth quarter and overtime.
The win also holds historic significance due to the Deflategate Scandal that happened the previous year. Brady was accused of ordering the deliberate deflation of footballs that were used in the Patriots’ victory against the Indianapolis Colts during the 2014 AFC Championship Game. After an investigation, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Brady for four games in the 2016 season, resulting in widespread controversy. When Brady finally took hold of the Lombardi trophy, he did not hold back. In a hilarious commercial, Brady took a not-so-subtle jab at Roger taking it up a notch.
The icing on the cake

The hilarious 2016 advertisement for Shields MRI was one of the genius ways of celebrating Brady’s epic comeback. In the first version of the ad, a nurse asks Brady to remove any jewelry and stuff it in a locker, before heading for the appointment. The QB cheekily pulls off four glimmering rings one at a time.
Roger that Brett

The nurse asked him, “is that all?” and Brady replies with a grin, For now.
Later an updated version of the commercial was dropped on the night of the super bowl win. The scene unfolded similarly with Brady once again slipping off the four glistening rings at the request of the nurse only to reveal a bonus scene that follows like this;
NURSE: Is that all?
BRADY Actually, no. I forgot this one. It’s kind of new, Brady fishing one ring from his hoodie pocket.
The nurse humorously responds saying “We’re gonna need to get you a bigger locker” for Brady to drop the banger, “Roger that.”
The QB was so determined to claim the victory that he did not have to think twice when he was asked to shoot the alternate ending when his suspension still persisted.
An impeccable plan

On September 19, secret filming of the commercial took place in a makeshift replica of a Shields facility in South Boston, during Brady’s four-game suspension. Shields Health Care later announced in a press release that both the original ad and an alternate ending were captured in the same month.
The alternative ending not materializing would have backfired on both Brady and the brand.
“There were no guarantees, but there’s faith in what the Patriots can accomplish, and there’s faith in Tom Brady, so everyone on the [commercial’s] set agreed to go for it,” Carmel Shields, vice president of Shields MRI, said on the bold move.

Just like that faith in Brady did pay off as he grabbed his fifth ring that season.
