The win seems bittersweet for NFL fans, with many believing that Brady should have won it. Rodgers received 39 votes out of a possible 50 voting members, while Brady only received 10 votes. Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp received the final solitary vote. Many believed that the 7-time Super Bowl champion was the clear winner on the back of one of the best seasons of his career.
NFL fans also were seen calling the awarding of the honors a joke. While, statistically, Brady might have been the rightful recipient of the honor, there is a section of fans who realize why Rodgers won.

Aaron Rodgers Bags Home His 4th MVP title
The Packers QB received his award from the former NFL player and 5-time MVP Peyton Manning. He was praising how big an inspiration Manning was for him. In his acceptance speech, Rodgers pokes fun at coach Matt LaFleur and his ‘perfect eyebrows’. He posted a passer rating of 111.9, a completion percentage of 68.9, and a 13-3 win-loss record.
His stunning season will be a remarkable achievement in modern NFL QB history. The numbers behind his season made him just the fifth player in league history to win the accolade in consecutive seasons. The league has received a lot of backlash on social media and fans taking to Twitter to express their dissent. Fans were backing Tom Brady for the award. The discussion was dominated by the legitimacy of the decision and about the basis of awarding the winner.

The response online is quite unanimous, and almost all responses refuse to give Rodgers his credit. It is understandable the divide and support that the other candidates are receiving. But respect needs to be placed on one of the most talented QBs in the game. Despite the overwhelming dissent on social media, all the nominees and the winner deserve recognition for their spectacular individual seasons.
