Shannon Sharpe is the latest in the list to have his say. Three-time Super Bowl winner has called out Brady after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback said it wasn’t him who was throwing the flags.
Shannon Sharpe calls out Tom Brady
Sharpe was appearing on his ‘Skip and Shannon: UNDISPUTED’ talk show where he almost went on a rant against Brady.“I got a problem with Brady because look I don’t throw the flags but all you do is complain and whine about it. That’s what started the scuffle at New Orleans. Because you thought Mike Evans got interfered with so you ran your butt down the field. You got an unsportsmanlike conduct in the divisional round because you thought you got hit too hard and you said something,” Sharpe said. “So this notion about you don’t throw flags, you are right Tom. But you complain an awful lot to get flags thrown”.
Reacting to Brady calling the tackle on him by Jarret “a long unwelcome hug,” the analyst said on his podcast. He wanted NFL players to do to Tom Brady what he did to Jarret. Sharpe was referring to the apparent kicking incident.
“I want players to start doing to him what he did to Grady Jarrett. I want somebody to start kicking at Tom Brady to let him know how it feels because he has a history,” Sharpe went on.“You remember a couple of years ago, he had a problem about having a slide and going like you going to second base. So let’s talk about how Tom is a little dirty too while we are here,” the legendary Tight End added.

The controversy
The controversy erupted when Brady was sacked in the game against the Falcons by Grady Jarrett. The referee deemed the play as roughing the passer. Due to the call the Buccaneers, who were leading by six points in the last quarter, prevented a turnover. Tampa ran the clock out to win the game after that call. It has been a hot topic ever since.
Journalists pressed Brady about the call after the game. “I don’t throw the flags,” was his answer for everyone. This controversy doesn’t seem to have an end in sight and the debate about the call will go on. What is your view on the call?
