Tom Brady Gets a Three-Word Response After US Women’s Soccer Stars Chose Colin Kaepernick’s Path to Discuss a Serious Issue

Tom Brady may have retired from the NFL, but he still continues to make headlines. After ending a glittering 23-season career with 7 Super Bowl championships, the NFL GOAT is moving on with other post-retirement ventures. Most recently, he announced his collaboration as a team owner for the inaugural season of the E1 electric boat championships. Apart from his post-retirement ventures, Brady has come forward to support the US Women’s soccer team in the 2024 FIFA Women’s world cup. The NFL GOAT delivered a strong message of motivation to the US team, as they continue their conquest for a third consecutive World Cup championship.

But amidst his words of motivation, Tom Brady has found himself in the midst of criticism. And this stemmed because of his decision to remain quiet about the US Women’s soccer team’s dilemma at the World Cup.

A few years ago, in 2016, former San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick shook the world of sports. He decided to kneel during the National Anthem during an NFL game, as a sign of protest against police brutality. And ever since, it has become a symbol of anti-racist statements in sports and protests. And now, the US women’s soccer team finds themselves in troubled waters after fans criticized their actions when the national anthem played before their match against Vietnam. Five players from the team had their hands placed on their hearts, while three others sang the anthem. But the rest of the players decided to keep their hands behind their backs, including Megan Rapinoe. And this did not sit well with the people of the country. 

In a recent tweet by Conservative Brief on Twitter, it talks about how a few members of the US Women’s Soccer team did not sing along while the national anthem played before their match against Vietnam on Friday. The reporter further went on to state that Tom Brady decided to address the national anthem issue while sharing his words of motivation for the US team. He talked about how the NFL GOAT is proving to be a “conservative guy” while calling his decision to speak up on this matter “weak and cowardly.”

The US Women’s team defeated Vietnam 3-0 in the first game of the group stages of the World Cup. And Brady was one of the celebrities who took to social media to show his support for the women’s soccer team. In the video that he shared on social media, the NFL GOAT talked about how the US women’s soccer team is on the journey to achieve something even he couldn’t, despite winning 7X Super Bowl championships. And that is successfully pulling off a three-peat. “I just wanted to give a shoutout to our squad as they go for a third straight world cup. We’ll be back here watching, cheering for you guys at home”, Brady said in his video message. Winning three back-to-back championships is not an easy task. But the US team will be looking to give it their best shot, despite critics talking about their national anthem actions.
