Tom Brady has been watching the playoff despite the Buccaneers getting eliminated in the wild-card round this year. Tampa Bay lost 31-14 to the Dallas Cowboys. However, Brady is been glued to the screen since. And he watched Patrick Mahomes’ heroics last Saturday as well.
And Brady, like any other football fan, is a fan of Patrick Mahomes. However, it’s not because of his canon arms or his throwing abilities. It’s because of the leadership. A part of which was on full show against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Brady discussed Mahomes’ abilities on the Let’s Go Podcast this week.
Brady thinks certain Patrick Mahomes skills are overrated
Pat Mahomes injured his ankle in an ugly fashion. However, the Chiefs’ quarterback powered through what has now come out as a high ankle sprain and led his team to a 27-20 win over Trevor Lawrence’s men. Mahomes had a touchdown as well after returning from his X-ray check during halftime.

And to make things better, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid joined Brady and Jim Gray. However, he must already know what Brady said. “I respect him as a leader. Not just for how you throw the football. A lot of people can throw a football. It’s overrated. In my view, it’s a bit overrated. What’s really important is do the guys play with you and for you? When they love you and respect you, then you know you got someone great. Now you add some of his physical traits,” Brady addressed Mahomes’ greatness.
Patrick Mahomes led the league this regular season in passing yards (5250). And Tampa Tom was third (4694) on the same list. So even at 45, Brady is not completely ignoring the throwing aspect.
Tom Brady seemed more aggressive than usual
Brady is spending his post-playoff elimination time in luxurious Miami fashion with his kids. However, that hasn’t worked in calming him since his 7-0 win streak against the Cowboys came to an end. And Brady was proud of Mahomes for not letting his MVP-calibre season come to an end because of the injury.
“F—- it, make it this far and do what? Let some other teams go? No! You push to the limit. That’s what champions are made of,” Brady said ahead of Mahomes and Co’s AFC Championship game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
