For the past few weeks, the Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson and Buccaneers QB Tom Brady were all over the news. Even though they were not on the field, the duo garnered media attention. Watson recently went through a dark phase in his career. Finally, after identifying all the misconduct, the signal-caller was fined a huge amount, which cost him several regular season games for the franchise. It turns out the youngster will not be able to take on veterans like Tom Brady and is expected to miss more than half of the season.

Earlier, the disciplinary officer ruled for a four-game suspension. However, this verdict didn’t seem to have satisfied the league management. The NFL and NFLPA repealed and finally broke the Ice with an 11-game suspension for the quarterback and a hefty fine of $5 million, followed by a settlement between him and the league. With that said, Watson won’t be able to play crucial matches.
According to Colin Cowherd, the youngster was deliberately pushed to the back. Especially so he can’t play against Tom Brady. “I’m being told it’s 11 games, and the first game is week 13,” Cowherd said on his show.

“My guess is they didn’t want Deshaun on the field with Tom Brady. Who is the biggest brand in the NFL? They didn’t want Deshaun Watson anywhere near a Tom Brady game. Nowhere near Tom Brady. Tom Brady doesn’t want Deshaun Watson anywhere near his brand.” He added to his explanation. To some extent, the Clemson product has tainted his image.
Deshaun Watson vows to start a fresh
The former Texans QB lost an entire NFL season after being entangled in a series of controversies. After clearing his pathway, the signal-caller was recruited by the Browns this offseason.

While speaking in an interview, he vowed to start fresh and that all his disparities won’t affect his game. “As far as the job and what I need to do on the football side is to lead this team, help this team win multiple, multiple games and Super Bowls.”

Deshaun Watson is going to play in the fifth NFL season of his career. With so much hype being created even before he stepped onto the field, it will be interesting to see how much he lives up to his word in the upcoming 2022 season.
