There is no debate on the fact that the 2022 season happened to be a mixed bag for Tom Brady. The bar he has set in the NFL arena is quite high. As a result, sometimes fans get upset watching an average performance. Something that Cris Collinsworth experienced seeing at the Week 16 game between the Arizona Cardinals and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The former Bengals wide receiver called out the quarterback for underperforming during his second-quarter incomplete pass to Russell Gage. Thus, hitting back at the critics, Tom Brady spoke about the play in a recent episode of ‘Let’s Go! Podcast’.

After every game, Brady sits with Jim Gray discussing various issues on & off the football field. While Collinworth’s criticism gained traction in social media, Gray asked Brady for his reaction to the statement. Initially, Brady looked unaware of this comment and asked the panelists to clarify the exact narrative.
After learning the crux of this issue, the seven-time Super Bowl champion mentioned that he is a human and mistakes are bound to happen. Moreover, he took references to various games and athletes just like how Collinsworth took shots at the passer.
“That’s natural for a commentator to have his opinion, and I don’t know whether you agree with that or not. It’s just an opinion.” Brady said in the interview.
“I try to control what I can control and look, the game ended up. Do I miss passes? 100% Absolutely. God, I wish I completed every pass I wish. I’m sure every golfer wishes. Sometimes you miss you know you make hard ones, sometimes you miss easy ones. That’s just part of it. I still think there’s a lot to be gained from yesterday’s experience….we found a way to win. That’s going to build a lot of character growth,” he added, making a clever response.

What is Brady supposed to do if you hit someone in his hands and they drop it. This Tampa team doesn’t have good talent. Yes, Tom is getting older, but it isn’t all of his fault.

Awful call by Collinsworth. Perfect ball by Tom but Gage doesn't sit down. If Tom leads him that's a pick or he gets blown up as the ball arrives.
