The act made the star quarterback quite controversial, and his football career almost came to an end. In 2017, the then-Patriots star QB Tom Brady did not have much to say on the issue. In an interview a few years back, he was asked to comment on the situation of Kaepernick.

Brady mentioned that he did not pay much attention to the controversies that surrounded Kaepernick. He said“Not much. Not much. Not this time of year. My attention goes in a lot of places, so not much.” Brady did not take a stand and said many things were going on, and he was not so much aware of Kaepernick’s controversy.

That year many other quarterbacks such as Green Bay Packers Aaron Rodgers and Carolina Panthers Cam Newton came forward to support Kaepernick. They believed the 49ers star should be given a chance and be included in a team’s roster.

During the interview, Brady was asked about his relationship with Colin Kaepernick. To which he replied, “I don’t know Colin very well at all. I’ve never really had a conversation with him.”

Tom Brady and Colin Kaepernick last faced each other on the field in 2012

The last match-up where Tom Brady faced off against Colin Kaepernick took place in 2012. San Francisco 49ers defeated the Brady-led Patriots by 41-34. It is one of the most memorable matches, as the 49ers were leading the game 31-3. But at a point, Brady and company came out strong and scored 28 more points to bring the match to a tie. But eventually, the Patriots couldn’t keep up and lost the game.

Well, after staying away from the football field, Kaepernick might return to the NFL this season. Last month, Kaepernick had been given a chance to work out with the Las Vegas Raiders. It is being said that Kaepernick was impressive on the field, but there has been no official statement by the Raiders. If the Raiders keep Kaepernick on their roster, he will be a good backup option for Derek Carr.
