The NFL legend and former Cowboys superstar Roger Staubach continue to justify the nickname fans gave him, honoring the services he rendered for the nation. As rightly called, Captain America, mesmerizes his followers with insane work ethics at 80, showing no signs of slowing down.
While speaking to Jim Gray and the football superstar Tom Brady in the latest episode of their Let’s Go! Podcast, the NFL veteran spoke about a range of issues, including his workout sessions at this age. His passion for the game and the discipline he brings from the Navy remains an important aspect of his life.

At 80, the former quarterback gets involved in workout sessions for five to six days a week and spends almost one hour every day. “I work out five days a week, and it’s an hour,” Staubach said in the podcast.
“It’s elliptical bikes, different things, and I do the only weights I do are like bench press girls, and I devote about an hour for sure. Five to six days a week and give workouts. And this makes me feel good, really I don’t know if I’m getting stronger or anything else, but it does make me feel good after working out.” he added.
Indeed, all those fitness regimes certainly helped him mold a successful NFL career. After getting into the Cowboys squad in 1969 as a rookie, the quarterback spent 10 seasons in the franchise. Out of five appearances, the star bagged two Super Bowl titles.

He had also bagged a Heisman Trophy representing the Navy. As a result, Staubach entered the elite club of quarterbacks who clinched both accolades (Heisman and Super Bowl titles) in their careers. Similarly, the veteran boasts six Super Bowl selections and has a Super Bowl MVP to his name.

Interestingly, the 80-year-old is the wealthiest athlete alive in the country. Although he earned pretty less in his NFL career, compared to the current era, all his wealth accumulation comes from off-field pursuits; real estate business, to be precise.
Back in 1969, Staubach signed his rookie contract for just $25,000. “If I got hurt, I knew I had a family to provide for, and it was not crazy money in the NFL then.” the former passer said in a past interview, per CNBC.

However, he rose to prominence after launching the Staubach Company in 1977. They dealt in real estate. Per Reports from 2020, he roughly boasts a net worth of $600 million. Three decades later, he expanded the business to various states and opened more than 70 offices in the country. His fortune continues to grow.
