Starting with virtually zero financial knowledge, Booker has picked up stakes in seven startups since signing a five-year, $158 million contract extension with the Phoenix Suns in 2018. Last year, the NBA All-star joined video game equipment company Astro Gaming as a brand ambassador. Moreover, he is making around $8 million annually from brand endorsements for big companies like Nike and the video game Call of Duty in the market.
This unquenched thirst to do business alongside his NBA career helped him get a place in Forbes’ 2022, 30 Under 30 list in the sports category. “His desire to be a businessman and learn about business and investments at that young age was something I had not heard before, not seen before,” says Jim Reynolds (Booker’s advisor and business partner) to a news outlet. The shooting guard got selected in the first round of the 2015 NBA draft.
