As the rest of the world mourned the death of a legendary soccer player, the NFL world has also extended its solidarity. Tom Brady and his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen were among the many who paid tribute to the 82-year-old star’s passing.
The former couple shared an extra special bond with the legend, Pelé. Unlike ordinary fans, who admire the star’s legacy and his contribution to the sport, Brady and Bündchen shared a closer relationship with the legend. So what did they do?

Brady experienced what soccer fans could only dream of
Two years ago, Tom Brady had a challenge looming ahead of him. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were set to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl LV. Brady received some extra motivation from Pelé, who wished him the best for the game. He said, “Tom, good lunch in your tenth Super Bowl. Ten is my lucky number. Boa sorte, meu amigo!” Brady and the Bucs took home the victory, making it his seventh Super Bowl win.

Both Brady and Bündchen have special ties to the late football legend. As a fellow Brazilian, the former Victoria’s Secret model is a global ambassador for her country like Pelé. The crossing of their paths is not coincidental as they have accomplished much in their respective careers. Pelé’s passing has served as a reminder that regardless of the sport you follow, the legacies of athletes who have transcended boundaries will be forever cherished.
