In an interview before ‘The Match’ 6.0, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers revealed the surprising thing on which they spent their childhood allowances. Both QBs, who were teammates in the upcoming golf exhibition match, said they spent their money buying the jerseys of the same legendary player.

Brady and Rodgers team up to face Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes in the exhibition golf match. All four NFL stars have been preparing for The Match for some weeks.
In the interview, both Brady and Rodgers reminisced about what they did with their allowances when they were children. And both the Buccaneers’ and the Packers’ stars had the same answer.
Tom Brady grinned widely when he said, “Allowance money on a Jerry Rice jersey ’cause he was the man in San Francisco at the time.”
Aaron Rodgers mentioned, “If I would have worn it, it’s probably Joe Montana or Jerry Rice.”

Both players’ answers showed how highly they regarded the veteran WR, who played in the NFL for 21 seasons. He started his career with the San Francisco 49ers before moving on to other teams like the Oakland Raiders, the Seahawks, and the Broncos.

It is the second time Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers are taking part in ‘The Match’ together. Previously, they competed against each other in the 2021 version of the event, with Brady teaming up with Phil Mickelson and Rodgers with Bryson DeChambeau. The 2022 event is Brady’s third appearance in the match and Rodgers’ second.
The 6th edition of the event (2022) features four QBs, with the veterans on one side and the newer generation QBs on the other.

In the pre-match banter, Aaron Rodgers mentioned it as a match between the veteran QBs of the NFL against the new age QBs, Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. He had said that the veterans were more immune to banter than the younger generation of players, and it would take a lot to get inside the veterans’ heads.
