Remember last year, NFL GOAT Tom Brady had an interview with SiriusXM Sports? In that interview, we saw Brady talk about his idea of playing as a QB even after crossing 45 years of age. Brady gave a powerful backing to his desire to play for as long as he can in the NFL, stating, “We shouldn’t stop our life.” And it is a message that can resonate with any aspect of our lives. We recently saw Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts complete his education. Despite being a millionaire with his NFL career, Hurts went on to receive his master’s degree from Oklahoma. This goes to show that people should not limit their growth in any aspect.

And following the five-word message given by Tom Brady, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 59-year-old HC has finally achieved a very important personal accolade in his life. Something that he was waiting for almost 37 years.

Taking inspiration from Brady’s motivational words, Buccaneers HC Todd Bowles finally completed his education after almost three decades. Around 37 years ago, he left school to pursue his dreams of football in the NFL by signing with Washington. He also recently told the Tampa Bay Times that he promised his mother that he will get his educational degree.

And he has now finally fulfilled that promise. Todd Bowles earned a bachelor of science degree in youth and community development from Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland. While he had completed all the academic work in September, he wanted to be a part of the traditional graduation ceremony with the rest of the graduates.

Under Todd Bowles, the Buccaneers ranked third in the league in takeaways(82) and third in sacks(142) from 2019 to 2021. Before joining the franchise, Bowles was the HC of the New York Jets from 2015 to 2018. Under his guidance, the Jets had one of the best-run defenses in the NFL, holding teams to just 4.00 yards per carry. During his own career as an athlete, the Washington Commanders signed Bowles as an undrafted free agent after the 1986 draft. Playing eight years with the Commanders, he was also a part of the starting roster that won the Super Bowl XXII in 1987, defeating the Denver Broncos 42-10.

While the Bucs will be expecting a good run from Bowles in his second season as their HC, his personal educational achievement despite his age will surely be an example to his children. An example is that one should not stop dreaming and pursuing those dreams.
