The Bengals have knocked the number one seed possessing Tennessee Titans out of the playoffs. Cincinnati sent them home after a close division round matchup. The game was rough for the Titans, but the quarterback took a big blow. Ryan Tannehill will remember this game for a long time, but not for the right reasons.

The Titans fell only three points short in the 19-16 loss to the Bengals. Most of the blame for their shortcoming fell on the shoulders of the quarterback. This rocky competition had a rough start as well as a rough end for Tannehill.

Ryan Tannehill in the division round game against the Bengals

With the number one seed under their possession, the Titans were confident walking into the wild-card round. They were coming off a bye week. Maybe they did not take the hungry tigers of Cincinnati too seriously. The Titans fell short as the Bengals triumphed over them.

Leading the Tennessee offense was the quarterback Ryan Tannehill. He was tasked with the mission of bringing the win home for the Titans. But the game did not go as planned. As soon as the whistle blew in the first round, things started to go downhill for Tennessee. In the very first play of the game, Tannehill was brutally intercepted. The Bengals safety Jessie Bates did not let the ball go past him. The QB threw three interceptions throughout the game. His first and last passes were both intercepted by the Cincinnati defense.

After the match, the reporters were able to catch Ryan Tannehill for his thoughts on the game. “This is brutal, you know, It’s going to hurt for a long time.” He adds, “It’s going to be on my mind for a long time. It’s gonna take a long time to get over. You don’t look forward to this situation, you don’t look forward to being out when you had a great opportunity. And this is one of those things only time will heal.”
