While the Bills-Bengals match-up is one that no one would want to miss, Patrick Mahomes is more than ready to not watch it. During his post-game interview, Mahomes revealed his mundane reason for wanting to miss the game. The quarterback mentioned his reason for potentially missing out on what will be an action-packed matchup. While fans might expect a very complex reason, Mahomes’ is a simple one.
He simply said, “yeah so keep me up past my bedtime, it’s like gonna end up starting at like eight o’clock so uh you just I mean you just I try not to be too invested in it,” citing the need to sleep over the need to watch the game.
Furthermore, the quarterback also mentioned the mindset he emulates while watching games of good teams pitted against each other. He explained his mindset and said, “you just try to just watch it as a fan like I always do. I mean it’s great quarterbacks great, defenses great players um, and as a fan of the game, I like watching great football teams go up against each other.”
Even after being an MVP frontrunner, the quarterback still remains a humble student of the game. However, this is no surprise as Mahomes has proven this multiple times before.

Mahomes: The humble Chief of the Chiefs
Throughout the season, Mahomes has shown some great humility. He has admitted mistakes and given his teammates the credit that is due to them. Just earlier this season, the young leader of the Chiefs credited his teammate for an achievement that sometimes goes overlooked. He credited his defensive end for a win in OT without hesitation. The quarterback has always shown great maturity and humility as the leader of the Chiefs.
With the regular season coming close to an end, Mahomes and his Chiefs seem ready to jump into the playoffs rush. The Chiefs sit in a good position, owing to the herculean efforts of the team this season. It only remains to be seen how well Mahomes will command his troops in the playoff battles.
