In a world where every social media story carries a hidden message, the 3x Pro Bowl, Ezekiel Elijah Elliot just dropped a hint of something bigger. While the 28-year-old former Dallas Cowboys’ RB prepares for his rightful homecoming in Week 4, there’s much more brewing beneath the surface.

Zeke ruled college soccer, where is also earned second-team All-America honors in 2015, and then got drafted by the Dallas Cowboys. While things remained tough on the professional side, his recent Instagram story is all about getting into action his way.

According to NFL Network Insiders, the New England Patriots have signed Elliot to a one-year deal worth a whopping $6 million, with a $3 million base salary. And as if that wasn’t big enough, the cherry on top was his Instagram story. Featuring his personal barber, Anton Bova, transforming his long locks into a clean, fresh look. While it is reported that Elliot is making a comeback, his good riddance of a longtime hairstyle might be his way of sliding into a game-changing upcoming season.

A Patriots’ insider recently wrote, “Bringing Zeke on board adds a new dimension to our backfield,” commented a Patriots insider. After facing multiple setbacks, from injuries to hard luck, things seem to be falling into place with this reported deal.

Even though the Cowboys were reportedly keeping their door open for their RB until he signed with another club, this news surely puts paves the way for him to get on the field against his former team on the field for the first time.

It’s evident that Elliott’s past season, marked with challenges like a hyper-extended right knee, made his path a tad bit rocky. Yet, it’s worth noting that every athlete has their highs and lows. And while his past with the Cowboys shines bright with 1,881 carries, 8,262 yards, and 68 rushing touchdowns, the future seems to be calling him toward good.

Although the Cowboys’ door may have seemed slightly ajar for Zeke, with owner Jerry Jones hinting at a possible re-signing, the current update suggests otherwise. Coach Mike McCarthy seems to be leaning toward younger talent, prioritizing reps for the newbies over the veteran Zeke.
