

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a remarkable 2020 season, which ended in a Super Bowl title. Wirfs was a steal for the Buccaneers in the 2020 NFL Draft. He was picked by the to be Super Bowl champions in the first round as the 13th overall pick. Though many would be wondering by the priority pick for an offensive lineman, but his 2020 NFL Combine performance was no ordinary.

Wirfs was an absolute beast in the Combine, locking an all-time best performance by any player in that position. He was surely a standout performer and his complete domination over three aspects was simply undeniable. And his Combine performance was something that put him in the spotlight way before he even stepped in the NFL.
Tristan Wirfs breaks three records in the 2020 NFL Combine
The then 21-year-old recorded a 36 1/2″ vertical jump which is the highest ever for an offensive lineman. Second to him stood Joshua Miles, Leon Robinson, and Eric Steinbach each with a 36″ jump. Then he also ran two incredible 40-yard dashes recording 4.86 s and a 4.88 s time, making him the fastest in the position.

Furthermore, he also measured a 10 1″ best broad jump making him tie the first spot with Kolton Miller. The 2020 NFL Combine was very effective for the to-be NFL star. As it was a stepping stone towards greatness. His exceptional performance quickly caught the eye of many coaches in the league, but Bruce Arians was the one who ended up signing him.

It was one of the factors for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ dream run to the Super Bowl. Apart from the expertise of Tom Brady And Rob Gronkowski, Tristan also had a major contribution to help the Bucs claim the title in the end.
