Three days ago, the renowned 71-year-old broadcaster tweeted his endorsement for Joe Burrow, declaring, “Congrats to Joe Burrow, the NFL’s best QB,” in light of the 26-year-old becoming the highest-paid player in the NFL. Burrow signed a substantial five-year contract valued at $275 million, including an impressive $219 million guaranteed. And now, three days later, Bayless surprised his followers with an unexpected confession regarding Tom Brady. In his tweet, he simply stated, “I miss Tom Brady.”

The connection between these tweets is puzzling; they could be unrelated candid remarks. Nevertheless, some speculate that Burrow’s disappointing performance in the opener against the Browns may have swayed Bayless’s opinion, prompting his yearning for Brady. Another possibility is that Bayless’s mention of Brady is due to the quarterback’s recent enthusiastic support for the Patriots, coupled with the news of his early induction into the Patriots Hall of Fame by team owner Robert Kraft.

Regardless of the reasons, it’s evident that Bayless can’t easily put Brady out of his mind, often invoking his name and stirring controversy.

Skip Bayless called Tom Brady a psycho?

There was a time when sports analyst Skip Bayless criticized Tom Brady, calling him a “horrible role model” on an episode of his show, “The Skip Bayless Show.” Bayless mentioned, “I didn’t start noticing psycho-Tom’s behavior until after Brady had won three Super Bowls, three in New England, because, for the first three, he was pretty much on his best behavior.

This statement came about due to Brady’s frustrated reaction toward his Buccaneers teammates during a game. When the Buccaneers had an unsuccessful drive and punt to start the second half, Brady displayed visible frustration, yelling at his teammates as he made his way to the bench.

He continued to vent his anger by tossing his helmet and throwing a tablet. This prompted Bayless to make his earlier statement. Interestingly, Bayless later changed his view of Brady’s role modeling after Brady’s divorce from Gisele Bündchen. Last year, Bayless stated, “If at any point, Ernestine [Bayless’ wife] had said, ‘I’m sorry. I need you to stop and spend more time with me and live a normal life,’….trust me, I would have said…I just have to go on without you.” It’s somewhat ironic that Bayless, who once criticized Brady’s role model status, now supports Brady’s career-first choice over family.
