Josh Allen took a firm stance with regard to the narratives being spun around the situation involving the Bills‘ safety Damar Hamlin’s collapse. The quarterback addressed one particular issue that has been making the rounds within the NFL community.
Although the football world stood in solidarity to support Damar Hamlin after the on-field incident, certain narratives implicated Bengals WR Tee Higgins of wrongdoing. But, Allen made his stance loud and clear.

Damar Hamlin shocked the NFL world after collapsing on-field in the Bills’ bout against the Bengals. After tackling Bengals WR Tee Higgins, the safety got up before hitting the ground again. Fans and players were horrified after realizing that the safety was not going to get up. Hamlin was given immediate medical attention which included CPR. In light of the incident, certain narratives that blamed Tee Higgins for what happened made their way across the football community online. But Allen was quick to put a stop to the rumors and attacks on the Bengals receiver.
In conversation with the press, the QB said, “People should not be attacking him [Higgins] whatsoever.” Coming from the QB, who wields influence as one of the most beloved players in the league, this statement will hopefully quell some of the narratives that are being spun online.

Allen is grateful for the Hamlin family’s take on the matter
But it’s not just the QB who stood against what Higgins what facing. Allen also added, “I’m glad that Damar’s family came out and said that. Hopefully, he found some relief today. Because, again, that’s a football play. I hope that he doesn’t hold that upon himself because there’s nothing else that he could’ve done in that situation.” Hamlin’s family has come out to defend Higgins after the backlash the WR faced.
Damar Hamlin remains in critical condition after suffering a cardiac arrest but is currently showing signs of improvement. Fans will be glad to hear that the 24-year-old is doing better. In what has been a difficult few days for the football world, the necessity to curb negative narratives is paramount. And that’s what Allen and Hamlin’s family are hoping for.
