Tom Brady and Bill Belichick were a match made in heaven for the New England Patriots. Together, they dominated the NFL for nearly 20 years, winning six Super Bowl rings. They were the ultimate power couple in football. On September 11, there is a special tribute for Tom Brady at Gillette Stadium, where he played for so long.
When asked about it, 6x Lombardi winner Coach had nothing but praise for his former quarterback. He said he had spoken to Tom a few times and always enjoyed their conversations. He also mentioned two other players he had the privilege of coaching, who were the most exceptional players ever seen.

During an interview with the Boston Herald, recently Coach Belichick said he felt very fortunate to have coached three amazing players, “I feel very fortunate to have coached Tom, Lawrence Taylor, Matt Slater,” HC stated. Those players are considered among the best ever at their positions.
Linebacker Taylor was a defensive beast, and with HC they won two Super Bowls together with the New York Giants in the late 80s and early 90s. Whereas, Wide receiver Slater, a special teams ace, has been with the Patriots since 2008, winning three Super Bowls.
Bill Belichick this morning: "Tom Brady has done an awful lot for this organization, this franchise, this city, and the NFL. One night is really not anywhere close to enough for the appreciation Tom deserves.”

“That’s the three top players at their position: offense, defense, special teams that I think [have played] in the history of the game, and that’s pretty — I feel pretty lucky as a coach.” 71 years old, Belichick said that great players make coaches better, and he was thankful for the opportunity.
“Great players make great coaches, and I’ve been very fortunate. There’s been a lot of great players along the way. I’m not taking anything away from anybody else. But those three are special.” Lawrence Taylor, who is 64 years old, stopped playing football in 1993. He became a Hall of Famer in 1999. On the other hand, Matt Slater is 37 and still plays for the Patriots.

Matt Slater’s Hall of Fame confusion
According to a Boston report, Slater has been chosen for 10 Pro Bowls, which is impressive, but he might not end up in the Hall of Fame, which would be unusual. “I think of Matthew Slater, I don’t think there’s any question he’ll get in when his time comes,” Steve Tasker said per Boston’s last year report. “He might not be a first-ballot Hall of Famer, but he’ll be a guy they’ll have to address.”
However, in the last few years, the Patriots team hasn’t been doing well after their famous player Tom Brady left. They didn’t make it to the important games’ postseason out of the last three years, they only made it once but didn’t win any playoff games. So, it hasn’t been an enjoyable time for the Patriots recently.
