Tom Brady took a snap and scanned the zone for an open man. Atlanta’s Defensive Tackle, Grady Jarrett, slipped through the OL and got a swing at the star quarterback. He brought TB12 down and flipped him over, making it look like a sack.
However, head referee Jerome Boger marked Grady Jarrett for roughing the passer. The referee made the call after a quick conversation with his crew. The video of the play is all over social media platforms, and a lot of scrutinies is coming forward. The readers could also witness Tom Brady trying to kick DT Jarrett after the sack, which is piling up more disgrace.

After the game, head official Jerome Boger spoke to the media after the Sunday game. He pointed out that the useless aspect of the incident was Grady Jarrett’s method of dragging Tom Brady to the ground. But Boger ruled out the notion that they are more critical of such hits considering the Tua Tagovailoa incident.

Moreover, Mike Greenberg called it the most embarrassingly awful NFL call in five years. It also had little likelihood of it being called for any other QB.
The roughing call they just gave to Brady might be the most embarrassingly bad NFL call in five years. And there is zero chance they call it for any other quarterback. #Falcons

This user called that personally, is not a penalty. However, considering the Tua Tagovailoa case, referees will tighten up on this to prevent it.
That’s a pretty similar spin and throw down like what happened with Tua. If Brady hits his head there probably knocked out. Personally I don’t think that’s a penalty, but after the Tua situation refs are going to crack down on that to avoid it.
