YouTuber and semi-professional boxer Jake Paul is frequently making the headlines on Twitter. Mostly it’s for promotional purposes for his upcoming bouts. However, last night, Jake took a step out of the ring to take a shot at the soccer community. And with the FIFA World Cup Final taking place simultaneously, the global sporting community laid it out on Paul.

‘The Problem Child’ tweeted in support of American football in the entire ‘football versus soccer’ debate. On any other day, he might have found considerable support from Americans. However, the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and France turned out to be one of the greatest World Cup Final games in the history of the prestigious competition. And sadly, Paul even invoked the wrath of some hardened NFL fans for this lazy comparison.

“American Football is the greatest team sport,” Logan Paul’s brother tweeted. However, fans were quick to lay out the numbers. And the statistics surrounding the viewership of the two sports. Especially the number of viewers in the World Cup final as compared to the Super Bowl.
Superbowl: 100 million viewers
World cup final: 4 billion viewers

Just for perspective…. You can’t even compare Super Bowl to World Cup … you can compare it to Champions league final pic.twitter.com/af4kQ21aSj

The fact you have to call it “American” football just says everything. Football is the goated sport

I love the NFL, but come off it. There's never more than half a team on the field at any given time.
The NFL is the greatest advertising sport ever.

1 hour of American football contains about 11 minutes of action and takes close to 3 hours. Basically, it’s a great game for the playing of commercials. I’d rather watch rugby.

Fans also complained about the increasing advertising activity present during the NFL games. This doesn’t diminish either sport. And maybe Jake’s provocation was unnecessary.
Jake Paul had a point considering some of the thrillers fans saw in the NFL on Sunday
Lionel Messi and Argentina clinched the crown of world soccer after beating Kylian Mbappe and his French side on penalties after a 3-3 extra-time thriller. However, Jake Paul wasn’t all wrong in showing excitement for the Sunday Football action waiting. The Las Vegas Raiders beat the New England Patriots in mind-blowing fashion after an astounding Patriots error.

Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals beat Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite Brady putting up a three-touchdown, 312 yards passing game. The San Francisco 49ers clinched the NFC West Division title. ‘Mr. Irrelevant’ Brock Purdy had another 2 TD game connecting with Niners tight end George Kittle. San Francisco beat divisional rivals Seattle Seahawks 21-13.
However, like it or not, Jake Paul had to give in to the pressure. And he ended up watching the most crucial moments of the penalty shootout of the World Cup final and seemed to be an Argentina fan, as he screamed “Vamos, Vamos” after 25-year-old Argentine Gonzalo Montiel scored the winning penalty.
