The NFL is no stranger to lighthearted teasing and joking between players, often resulting in good laughs. With the recent trend of tight ends dropping passes, JJ Watt and Patrick Mahomes took this opportunity to sprinkle their comic & witty touch, making the Sunday a ?Funday? for all. They joined in on the banter poking fun at the situation and leading their fans toward their humor.
JJ Watt is the former defensive end of the Arizona Cardinals who recently played humor on his former teammate, Zach Ertz. Taking this into account, Kansas City Chiefs QB Mahomes also participated in the conversation and pointed out his teammate Travis Kelce?s failure at baseball. It seemed they both have had enough of seeing them failing in the MLB mock matches.

Zach and his wife, Julie Ertz went to witness a baseball match on Saturday. They were allowed to throw the ceremonial?s first pitch at the Philadelphia Phillies game. The couple stood side by side (a little far though) to throw their pitches. Julie is a professional soccer player for Angel City FC of the National Women’s Soccer League. Being a master of pitches, she threw the ball accurately, while Zach?s throw ended up with a bounce to the home plate.
This triggered Watt to post the incident and write jokingly to his friend, ?We have to get this scrubbed from the internet ASAP @ZERTZ_86.? He further added, ?We cannot have people with lots of followers retweeting and sharing this. Have you ever thrown a baseball before?!?
His witty post created funny moments in the NFL, as fans and fellow players alike couldn’t help but laugh at the clever jab. His tweet quickly gained traction, with many commenting or sharing the posts. Among them, one was Patrick Mahomes, who also seemed to be fed up with this type of horrible game in the MLB played by his friends.
Patrick playfully grilled his teammate, Travis Kelce, over the awful first pitch
Joining in Watt?s sarcasm, Mahomes retweeted Watts? tweet tagging his teammate, Travis Kelce, ?Tight ends got to get this figured out @tkelce.? As the story was, via Sports Illustrated, earlier Travis also threw a pitch ahead of the Guardians? home opener against the Mariners this year in April. He threw the ball at a short pitch on the ground, ending it rolling past the home. After the throw, Kelce laughed at his worst throw episode.

To this, Mahomes tweeted, “Ayyyyyy bruhhhhhhhhh ????????????????????????? @tkelce.” Poor Kelce jokingly replied that he shouldn’t have eaten that popcorn, which he claimed was the reason behind his poor throw. Mahomes’ retweet of Watt’s post generated a lot of attention, including from Watt himself. He asked all the tight ends whether they played baseball during their childhood. “This is an epidemic. We need answers,” he added.
It was a lot of fun to watch the tight ends deliver a bad throw, and it was even funnier to see their teammates comment on it. Interestingly, Mahomes is no stranger to baseball, having played the game in his childhood. Maybe he could teach the tight ends some perfect pitching lessons in the future. Until then, Kelce and Ertz will surely remember their embarrassing throws for a while.
