Recently, Michigan Wolverines football’s running back Donovan Edwards apologized for his activity on social media. Earlier, the 19-year-old RB retweeted a post on Twitter, where a famous American rapper Kanye West’s picture was attached to it. 

The tweet had some problematic statements. One Twitter user took a screenshot of Edwards retweeting and posted it on social media. After that, the Michigan RB received a lot of backlash on social media; so, he delete his tweet.

Later on, he gave an explanation through Twitter, as he said, The retweet was a glitch. I speak for myself. I know what’s in my heart…

Then he further explained what exactly happened when he retweeted the post. His statement says, I apologize for mistakenly retweeting a message that was so hurtful to so many…

Even in the caption of his tweet, he said, “This has been a learning experience for me.” 

A Michigan Board of Regents member reacted to Edwards’ tweet

A member of the Michigan Board of Regents named Jordan Acker retweeted Edwards’ comments. According to him, the RB made a mistake, but he is a good-hearted person. He also talked to the coach of the Michigan team and they will join him at the end of the season at The Zekelman Holocaust Center.

Meanwhile, this Saturday, the Michigan Football team absolutely destroyed the 13 Penn State by 41-17. In that game, Edwards performed incredibly well, as he rushed 16 times for 173 yards along with two touchdowns.

Moreover, the Michigan team is sitting at the top position in the Big Ten East division. This Sunday, the Michigan football team will face the Michigan State Spartans, which will be a feisty game for sure.
