Denver Broncos are in the middle of a struggling NFL season. They suffered another setback on Monday as linebacker Aaron Patrick suffered a torn ACL against the chargers. Meanwhile, the nature of the injury was unusual. Patrick collided with a media person on the sidelines of the game. It would mean the 25-year-old will miss the remaining season. Earlier, in 2020, Raiders’ Johnathan Abram had sprained his shoulder when he crashed into a TV cart.

Aaron Patrick’s agent, Lamont Smith, explained how the injury occurred. “I was very disturbed about the way the injury occurred with the carpet being on the sideline like that. His cleat got lodged in the carpet trying to avoid the media person,” he said. Several fans expressed upset over the injury. They vented out their frustration on Twitter. They asked why players are getting injured in unusual manners.
A user linked it with Reggie Bush’s past incident.
This ended Reggie Bush’s career and nothing happened. Don’t expect it to now

However, a fan registered a complaint.
And if the carpet wasn't there and his client tripped over the exposed wires, he'd be complaining about that as well 🤷🏼♂️

This user had a different take on the incident.
To be fair, it’s a mega multi billion dollar a year business. Is a piece of carpet or exposed wires the only two options?

How Aaron Patrick got injured
Patrick went outside the field while trying to make a tackle. He collided with a media member. It caused him to take an awkward step on a carpet. As a result, the athlete fell down and hurt his knee during the process.
Meanwhile, several NFL fans asked why additional equipment and properties are used in the games. Fans think a collision sport needs to be risk-free while arranging the sideline, to ensure player safety. Many of them expressed their concerns in their tweets.
It made sense to a user.
There is too much stuff to close to the field. Every year it seems like a player gets hurt interacting with sideline personnel or equipment that should not be there

A user had an idea.
Here’s a wild idea: stop filling the sidelines with unnecessary things

This fan said the injury is common.
He planted with his heel on the carpet. Common way to cause a knee injury.
