The Philadelphia Eagles’ historic 8-0 run came to an unexpected end on MNF. Philly lost to their division’s lowest-ranked team, the Washington Commanders. There were a lot of factors that contributed to this unfortunate loss at home. However, Philly fans have blamed Monday’s loss on a Hollywood celebrity.

Miles Teller, in addition to being a popular name in the Hollywood movie industry, is also a Philadelphia Eagles fan. The Whiplash star wished the Eagles before their game on Monday on Instagram. After the game, things went south for Teller when Philly fans accused him of spreading bad luck. “This dude is bad luck,” commented one while another wrote “Last time miles Teller was at a sporting event, Philly lost the biggest game they’ve been in over a decade. Get him AWAY from my Birds.”
Since the comeback win from Washington, the Eagles fan base has cited multiple factors responsible for the heartbreaking defeat. The Philly defense was “atrocious” according to some, while others blamed the “bad officiating.” However, Miles Teller added another reason when he sent out a message for the Birds from the official Instagram page of the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Top Gun- Maverick star was on the field and attended the Salute To Service week for the Eagles. In the post, he said he “can’t wait for us [Eagles] to put a whooping on the Commanders.” One fan commented within minutes, “if we lose, I’m blaming this video.”
The Philadelphia Eagles’ defense was a bigger reason for the loss than Miles Teller
Miles Teller had apparently jinxed a Phillies baseball game a while ago and Philadelphia is not happy with the actor. “The dude just jinxed the Phillies a week ago, lol. Be ready to interview Harper after he hits a game winning HR,” one fan wrote. The video startled one fan, and he wanted Teller out. “Yo, get him TF outta there. He bad luck.”

Bad officiating and Hollywood celebrity aside, Philadelphia had a lot of problems on-field. This was noticeable when the Washington Commanders‘ offense took over the last three-quarters of the ball game. The Commanders scored 25 points in that duration while the Eagles only managed a mere 7. Jalen Hurts and the Eagles’ offense gave them the early lead in the game. Hurts had a 1-yard running touchdown and threw another one to TE Dallas Goedert. The Eagles QB had 3 TDs over 175 yards and 1 interception in the 32-21 loss.
The Eagles’ defense let the Commanders convert 3rd downs and Washington kicker Joey Slye did a flawless job from the field goal range. Slye had 14 points for the night. Washington also had 2 rushing TDs pushing past the Philly defense without some key players out to injuries. C J Gardner-Johnson still leads the NFL in interceptions and got his 6th for the season against Washington. However, it wasn’t enough to stop QB Taylor Heinicke and the Washington offense.
