Pat McAfee has been in the news lately due to his transition from Fanduel to ESPN. Moving to a new network could change his show, but McAfee’s top priority is being a new father. He and his wife, Samantha, shared the news of their daughter’s birth on social media in May.
The Indianapolis Colts punter’s time and attention are now focused on his family and his new move. Though, now the Sports Analyst is back again with his famed humor as he took to X to announce his recent three-month-old achievement.

On Thursday, May 8, exactly three months back, the 36-year-old ESPN sports analyst Pat McAfee announced the birth of their first child, a daughter. He wrote a caption to accompany a photo of him, his wife Samantha, and their newborn’s tiny foot, saying, “Today’s a day that @mrsmcafeeshow and I have been dreaming of… I can’t wait to see where this foot gets to go, beautiful girl. WE LOVE YOU. Baby and Momma are both healthy… Momma and I are floating with joy. This is amazing. Thanks for all of the good vibes.”

Today, the Colts punter took to X to celebrate his daughter’s third month with extravagance as he posted another picture of her in a black-skin frock on a fur with a wooden carved “three month” beside her. It was captioned, “I’m in some real trouble… she’s way too cute.. and already smarter than her dad. It’s been a great 3 months, baby girl… We love you. Don’t get arrested.” Their daughter was a blessing after the couple endured two previous miscarriages and just before McAfee’s big move to ESPN.

In a surprising turn of events, former NFL punter-turned-media sensation Pat McAfee, who had previously inked a massive $120 million deal with FanDuel just 18 months prior, announced on May 16 that his renowned YouTube talk show would be making a transition to ESPN in the upcoming fall season. This decision came despite the significant financial benefits tied to his FanDuel contract—McAfee’s motives for leaving the lucrative deal extended beyond monetary considerations.
The workload associated with his show, which exceeded the visible 15 hours per week on air, had become overwhelming. Recognizing the need for a more balanced lifestyle following the recent birth of his child, he saw an opportunity to partner with ESPN to handle the back-end production and business aspects of his show. While the move entails a reduction in financial gains compared to his FanDuel agreement, McAfee is enthusiastic about the prospects that ESPN brings. He believes the network’s abundant resources, production capabilities, and broad access to sports content will pave the way for exciting new directions in his show’s creative development.

Notably, he will maintain a presence on other ESPN programs, including the famed “College GameDay,” and has engaged in collaborative ventures for special broadcasts of college games through Omaha Productions, spearheaded by Peyton Manning. This strategic transition underscores McAfee’s shift from mere financial gains to prioritizing a more balanced lifestyle and embracing the potential to exert a more far-reaching influence within the sports media industry.
