Patrick Mahomes has set his sights on playing till 45 like his idol, Tom Brady. The 27-year-old, while appearing in an interview with sportscaster Maria Taylor, revealed his approach to coaching. He said he’ll teach the fundamentals first to the kids.

PM15 added he’ll give them a chance to improvise, and try their “stuff out. But they got to know if they try some stuff out and are bad, I’m gonna get on to them. They’re not gonna able to do it again. That’s how I was taught with coach Reid, my coach in college and my high school coach,” Mahomes added as he referred to his former coaches.

Mahomes’ methods are inspired by former coaches
The Super Bowl winner has a potent reason for getting onto kids, for bad stuff. He revealed that’s how he was treated by his former coaches. “As long as it worked, they were fine, and if it didn’t work, I was not allowed to do it again,” Mahomes added. The Grim Reaper, earlier in a presser, had expressed his desire to play long and emulate Tom Brady.

Speaking further, PM15 added he does not have any coaching plans in mind at the moment. He emphasized about focusing on his own game and leading the Chiefs to another Super Bowl title. Mahomes added it is “too much” to think about coaching tasks at the moment. The NFL star also referred to Kansas City Chiefs’ letter to editor incident. He added he is “not trying to show off or doing things like that.”
