The Arizona Cardinals have added another personnel from the Eagles to their coaching staff. Earlier, the Cardinals hired Jonathan Gannon as their new head coach, who was the former defensive coordinator for the Eagles. Now, as per NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the Arizona team has lured in former Philadelphia linebackers coach Nick Rallis as their new defensive coordinator.
The #Cardinals are hiring 29-year-old Nick Rallis as their defensive coordinator, per sources.

According to Pelissero, many teams wanted Rallies; however, the 29-year-old former LB chose to follow Gannon in the Cardinals. With this move, Rallies became the youngest-ever coordinator in NFL history. After this move, many fans on social media showed support; whereas some Eagles fans showed their disappointment.

It is worth noting that the Cardinals had a pretty poor 2022 season, winning only 4 games out of 17; they also finished last in the NFC West division. On the other hand, the Eagles made a Super Bowl run with the help of their terrific defense. Appointing both Gannon and Rallis will certainly help the Cardinals improve their season in 2023.

As mentioned before, Rallis is the youngest-ever coordinator in NFL and now he is younger than 11 other players in the Cardinals’ 53-man squad. Rallis has a pretty interesting career, as he played as a star linebacker at college in Minnesota. Then, he decided to pursue a coaching career after college and joined the Vikings, where he spent three seasons.
Cardinals are finalizing a deal with former Eagles’ defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon to become their new head coach, sources tell ESPN. The last HC opening of this hiring cycle is being filled.

In 2021, he joined the Eagles as a linebackers coach. Along with Gannon, he helped the Eagles’ defense massively. Last season, the Eagles were eighth in the NFL in scoring and first in pass defense. Although the Chiefs trolled the Eagles’ defense during their victory parade, they certainly gave a tough time to the Chiefs‘ offense in the Super Bowl. Now, the Cardinals are also possibly looking for the same impact from both Gannon and Rallis.
