Patrick Mahomes has been inching closer to the MVP title from the start of the season. While the star QB has competition from his peers, Mahomes is by far the superior contender. But even the Chiefs star has his bad days. Despite winning against the Denver Broncos, the quarterback did not look fully like him performance.

The NFL world was quick to notice that. The Chiefs managed to scrape out a win as the Broncos tried to make a comeback. They gained some ground, coming back from a 27-point deficit. Broncos QB Russell Wilson capitalized on some uncharacteristic mistakes from Mahomes. But like all good leaders, Mahomes did not shy away from admitting to his mistakes. So, how did Mahomes respond to his uncharacteristic decision-making during the game?

Post their victory, Mahomes elaborated on how their victory was a team effort. He said, “I was proud of how the guys responded whenever I wasn’t playing great… Because you need everybody if you want to go out and try to win a Super Bowl.” The star quarterback also took to Instagram to appreciate his team. NFL fans can sometimes be ruthless, especially when their teams fail to showcase progress.

The usual nitpickers went surprisingly easy on Mahomes’ iffy performance against the Broncos. Mahomes posted a series of pictures on Instagram with a caption that appreciated his team. Fans reacted to the post and commented on what they thought of his performance.

This ardent fan said, “My QB can have a bad game but his bad day still had 352 yards and 3 TDS. I’ll take it”

Another fan makes a statement, “MVPat”

This fan makes a point, “They came through for you… but you come through for them on the regular! It’s an amazing team!”

One fan cheekily commented, “Then why’d you just post yourself? No hate just jokes”

Another user makes a bold prediction, “yall gon be in the superbowl [sic] cuz we getting past the Bengals and the Bills”

Patrick Mahomes is undoubtedly a fan favorite. The MVP front-runner is beloved by fans across the board, but even that doesn’t stop them from giving unsolicited advice about improving his performance.

Mahomes and the Chiefs have a goal in mind

The Kansas City Chiefs are one of the contenders for the Super Bowl title this season. Despite having a predominantly positive season, the Chiefs have fallen short in certain areas. For starters, the Broncos are ranked as one of the weakest offenses this season. But the Chiefs gave up a 27-0 lead, and that says a lot of the areas that require fine-tuning.

Mahomes will also have to iron out certain aspects of his otherwise phenomenal performance. Although the QB was picked off multiple times against the Broncos, the Chiefs managed to come out on top. But a one-off incident cannot be taken for granted. The playoffs will be intense as everyone is fighting to reach the same goal. If Mahomes and the Chiefs are hoping to lift a second championship trophy, they’ve got to be better than the rest in all aspects.
