It was an unexpected move! No one saw that coming. But in the end, it evoked such hilarious reactions. The occasion was the NFL contest between the Chargers and Chiefs. In that clash, Chargers’ strong safety, Derwin James, did the unthinkable.

When the heat of the match was pouncing up, Chiefs’ tight end Kelce ran into James. However, the six-foot-two lifted the six-foot-five tight end, and just slammed him on the turf. This move made a lot of noise on Twitter, with several fans asking the 26-year-old James to join the WWE.

While talking about the incident, several fans slammed James for conducting unsportsmanlike behavior. Apparently, some of them asked him to show more restraint and to respect the opponents.

Some users also requested him to think of the family of the opposition players before going for such moves. 

NFL being a physical sport involves a lot of heat moments. However, what comes to the core is the safety of the players. As a result, the organizers have put strong concussion rules in place for avoiding injuries. 

However, when players get to the heat of the moment, it becomes really tough for them to control their emotions, and incidents like these are sharp reminders that point light on player safety. In this incident, the officials ruled Kelce was down by contact.

NFL and WWE connection

Being a popular sport, the NFL is not short of WWE stars. Former WWE champion Brock Lesnar is a superstar who pursued football, after being a prominent name in the WWE. After competing against Goldberg in 2004 in a WrestleMania XX MATC, Lesnar put his WWE career on hold to pursue a career in NFL.

However, players going into aggressive mode is not a promising sight for NFL fans. The safety of players is of paramount importance, and they need to be stable, physically and emotionally, for the game’s benefit. As a result, it is high time there are stable rules to control WWE-like behaviors from happening in the future.
