After esque-ing Tom Brady, the 24-year-old wide receiver Justin Jefferson shines along with numerous promising players like Lebron James and Novak Djokovic at the award show. From showcasing his fashion game on Instagram to exceptional on-field play, Jefferson has consistently been in the limelight. And this time it’s for getting the best recognition one can get in the sports fraternity. 

Jefferson’s one-handed 32-yard catch against the Buffalo Bills was termed the finest catch of eternity. However, the catch has got praise from the players like Tom Brady, but this time along with the appreciation, Jefferson bragged an award at the ESPY 2023 awards night.

The Minnesota Vikings wide receiver turned the tables in the last season’s game against the Bills and led the Vikings to victory. When asked about the gravity-defying show during the game, Jefferson said, “Just the way my body went up, him catching the ball in his hands and me taking it from him, the whole play was crazy”

This ultimate showdown got Jefferson the “Best Play” award at the ESPY 2023. ESPNNFL’s official Instagram shared the news with millions of fans. The carousel featured a picture of Jefferson holding an award, followed by a video of the wide receiver accepting the award on the stage. While accepting the award on the stage, Jefferson said, “There’s so many things I want to accomplish and prove to myself,” he added. “This is the start of it, but there’s more to come for sure.”

After several accolades at this young age, Jefferson embarked on the journey to emboss his name in the legendary books of the NFL. However, the young WR stamped his presence among the veteran players of the sports fraternity. And the ESPY 2023 was nothing less than a powerhouse of talent and an abundance of dollars.

ESPY 2023 Awards night

July 12th, 2023 was the day of the recognition for the star players in the sports fraternity. The Disney-owned network ESPN hosts the ESPY Awards to honor the preceding year’s promising plays in respective sports. However, the NFL stars like Patrick Mahomes, and Caleb Williams received awards for Best Athlete, Men’s Sports, and Best College Athlete, Men’s Sports, respectively.

Making history, Kansas City Chiefs won the award for the Best Team. Moreover, Nick Bosa of the San Francisco 49ers and Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles along with Mahomes, and Jefferson won the award for best NFL player. The talent studded night recognized players from respective sports domains. However, the 2023 NFL season is ringing the bell and the anticipation is at the peak for the showdown of the promising plays in the upcoming season.
