Jerry Jones has been under scrutiny owing to his promise to the Cowboys’ Super Bowl-winning head coach. It has been one year since Jones promised the HC a Ring of Honor to celebrate the two Super Bowl wins in the 90s. Moreover, the feud between the two has stretched out farther than observers of the game would have anticipated.

Jerry Jones has not been too vocal about giving the ring of honor to the former HC, Jimmy Johnson. But when he does speak about it, Johnson is not a fan of his words. Earlier, Jimmy reacted to the delay in bestowing the Ring of Honor to him by saying, “While I’m alive?” Certainly, the former HC understands that the promise is taking longer than the expected time and it’s not making him any happier.
On the other hand, Jerry Jones is taking his time to stretch the feud out as he claps back at Johnson’s comments. Jones hits out the former HC by saying that sniveling for his Ring of Honor. Jimmy J doesn’t understand what part of getting his rightful award comes under sniveling.

In addition, Johnson feels that his name would never go up on the Dallas Ring of Honor. When asked about his expectations to see his name on it, he says, “never can tell.”
Jerry Jones claps back at Jimmy Johnson through his words
Speaking to NBC Dallas Fort Worth, the Cowboys owner said, “There’s a lot more than Jimmy to think about here. “I’ve got a lot of other lives out here that have laid a lot on the line on the field that need to be in that Ring of Honor as well. And so how I do that, what I do it with, I get to make that decision. And it isn’t at the end of the day all tailored around whether Jimmy is sniveling or not.”

Responding to the comments made by Jones, the 79-year old former HC said, “I had to look up that word in the dictionary. I don’t know that I’ve ever sniveled. Do you ever remember me sniveling? No way.”

While the feud stretches out, it is unclear when the 2x Super Bowl-winning head coach will get his Ring of Honor as promised by the billionaire owner of the Cowboys. The only thing that Johnson can do is hope that the day comes sooner than he expects.
