Pro football is an unpredictable game. Not just for the results, but also the fitness of the athletes playing in the league changes drastically. The San Francisco 49ers took a big hit at the beginning of the season after they lost Trey Lance from his job. However, a sigh of relief was getting Jimmy Garoppolo back into the action.

While the Niners are gearing up to play in Week 3, the franchise is moving ahead with an unexpected prospect to start the games. Although Garoppolo has been starting games for the past five seasons, he was a trade bait a few months ago.
His fortune shined after Lance twisted his ankle in the first quarter of Week 2 and Garoppolo was asked to step up. The veteran started with a bang and clinched an effortless 27-7 win against the Seahawks.
All of a sudden, this victory seems to have changed the perspective of the Niners locker room, especially coach Kyle Shanahan supporting Garoppolo, publicly calling him one of the best throwers on the planet.
“I’ve never not seen Jimmy throw the ball,” Shanahan said. “I think Jimmy’s one of the better throwers on this planet, so that’s been one of his number one attributes. I thought Jimmy had his best year last year. Got surgery at the end of the year, and once his arm started healing up, which throwing on the side and stuff, it always looked good.” he added to his explanation.

Garoppolo’s injuries have always remained a matter of concern, and that was one of the reasons why the Niners decided to go with Lance. However, a sudden shift of thoughts didn’t go well with the Niners fanbase.
NFL world reacts to Kyle Shanahan heaping praises for Jimmy Garoppolo
When Garoppolo set foot for the first time in Week 2, applause emerged from all the corners of Levi’s stadium. The veteran admitted that it was surreal support from the fans, and he was humbled to be a part of such a warm community. Meanwhile, Shanahan’s latest praise for Garoppolo seems to have raised many eyebrows.
One of the fans asked why didn’t he call Garoppolo in the first place.
Then why wasn’t he QB1? Originally?

Indeed, a valid question by this user.
If that's true why did you bench him?

Jimmy Garoppolo is one of the best at his jobs, said another user.
Of course, he's an professional quarterback and a quality one at that

However, this user joked about HC’s last moment of confession.
So to get Jimmy in the upper tiers of QBs, you have to pull in the *checks notes* entire population of the planet ? 😄

The Broncos are next on the chart for the Niners in Week 3. While Garoppolo is sitting in a better position, he needs to take care of his fitness. And above all, this is an opportunity for him to reinstate his trust in the management.
