Retirement comes for everyone. But for sports stars, it comes right when they seem to fall out of favor and their fitness or fall out of love with the game. Tom Brady is one superstar that does not fit the bill for the criteria. Having retired in 2019 with the Patriots, he came back in 2020 and spent another couple of seasons with the Bucs. When he eventually did hang up the boots, he transitioned away from football despite being in love with the game.
With 5 Super Bowl MVPs and 15 Pro Bowl among numerous awards, Brady registered himself as one of the GOATS. His retirement saw him exit the game on a high, even without a Super Bowl Appearance. In a recent conversation, Brady reflected on his retirement.

Brady retired at the ripe old age of 44, becoming the oldest QB to be selected at the Pro Bowl. Many top athletes have retired way earlier than him, and in some cases, almost a decade before him. Michael Jordan retiring at 30 is one of the closest comparisons with respect to the impact both athletes left on the respective game. Both have gone on to develop something of their own. In recent memory, Brady was interviewed by two of the top executives at eMerge Americas recently.
Tom Brady was in a conversation with Felice Gorodo and Melissa Medina, CEO and President of eMerge Americas respectively. Talking to them about retirement, Brady gave a tribute to the athletes before him. He said, “I saw a lot of other athletes that their dream ended at a younger age and then you know they had a hard time finding something they wanted to do.”
The former Bucs and Patriots QB explained his transition towards endorsement, ” I wanted to work on some of the other professional entrepreneurial things that I did.” Brady talked about the importance of having his own brand. He saed, “I really wanted to create my own brand. Because I didn’t want to I wanted to be the boss I didn’t want the answer to somebody all the time.” This attitude helped him build up TB12 even before he had hung up his boots.
Is the TB12 diet suitable for everyone?
TB12sports, Tom Brady’s personal brand has flourished well over the years. Its Instagram handle has seen over 500 thousand followers join in and support it. Not just the TB12sports brand, but the TB12 diet has also gained traction over the years. But some experts have talked about the diet and warned against it.

Experts suggest that although it is quite healthy, it may not suit everyone. The diet in itself is quite restrictive and can push an individual towards disordered eating. Some may find it to be uncomfortable because of the high fiber quantity. Experts say that it is not a one-size-fits-all solution for the fans and individuals following it.

Tom Brady has stomached retirement quite well, the second time that is. With his efforts now turning towards building his own brand, he will continue to take inspiration from those who have walked before him.
