Shannon Sharpe is often seen delivering sharp-witted critiques of players that may or may not align with the consensus. But this time, there’s no doubt many in the NFL world were feeling the same.
Towards the end of the game, Cousins threw a short but completed pass that was far from the end zone. Instead of going big, Cousins made a surprising decision. The pass isn’t how the QB was expected to end the game. With everything on the line, this wasn’t what was expected. The pass wasn’t the only bad decision from the QB. The last quarter was crucial for Minnesota, but the QB could not put on a show when it mattered the most. Sharpe took to Twitter to say, “WTF KIRK. Why would you throw that short of the sticks? ”. It seems like he echoed what most in the NFL were thinking.Cousins provokes the ire of fans who may have been hoping otherwise
As it turns out, Sharpe was not the only one rolling his eyes at the choice of play from the QB. NFL fans were quick to express their frustrations and bewilderment.

Kirk should be traded they gotta move on now, that was a career ruiner.. He’s not taking them no where.. Dosent even try to throw it to the best player on the field last drive.. I don’t even think he threw it to Jefferson on the drive before that..

While Minnesota started off hot, the Giants kept up and overtook them soon enough. After a rather good regular season, this was perhaps the most inopportune game to choke. The Vikings’ season came to an unfortunate end in front of a very excited home crowd. After a decent run to the playoffs, this was far from one of the quarterback’s brightest moments.
