The Raiders quarterback Derek Carr had to wrap up the season on a depressing note. His association, which lasted for nine years, didn’t receive an appropriate farewell. It seems the veteran took it personally and fired shots at the Raiders Nation during the Pro Bowl drills on Thursday.

The 2023 Pro Bowl games kick-started with a series of activities. The Precision throwing drill happened to be the first one, and the Raiders’ disgruntled quarterback made it through, securing the top spot. Even though Carr stole the show, his comments during the sideline interview caught much more attention.

The activity gave each participant a short span of one minute. In this time slot, the quarterbacks had to make throws and hit all those moving targets. Interestingly, DC4 racked up 31 points in one minute, outlasting the other six NFC and AFC counterparts.

SPN’s Ryan Clark took this opportunity to laud the veteran and asked him whether he has been that hot during his tenure at Las Vegas. Without a second thought, the Fresno product said, “Not that hot. It’s probably why I’m going somewhere else.”. Boom! This statement took no time to spread like wildfire on social media.

Many fans took to the comments section of that post to laud Carr and at the same time criticize the Raiders.

Derek Carr was selected by the Raiders in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Since then, he has been the face of the franchise. During the last nine seasons, Carr secured two playoff berths but couldn’t win a postseason game. Not to mention, a Super Bowl appearance still is his unwavering dream.

DC4 is a talented QB. Although he couldn’t fare well in Las Vegas, the passer will have plenty of other opportunities in the upcoming offseason. However, stepping out of the facility unceremonially is something that hurts him more.

“I once said that if I’m not a Raider, I would rather be at home, and I meant that, but I never envisioned it ending this way. That fire burning inside of me to win a championship still rages. A fire no man can extinguish; only God.” Carr said in his tweet, per TMZ.

The 31-year-old recorded 35,222 passing yards, 217 touchdowns, and 99 interceptions in his career so far. There is a lot more to go as the quarterback is still in his prime, although setbacks are bound to occur. It will be interesting to see which team goes for the talented QB for the 2023 season.
