For Texas-born Patrick Mahomes, the city of Kansas is now what he lovingly calls home. The quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs was drafted by the franchise in 2017 and with each passing year has been getting more and more involved with all things Kansas.
By recently buying a 3,759-square-foot house in the upscale community of Sunset Hills West, Kansas City, the quarterback has indicated that he’s not going anywhere, anytime soon.

And why would he? After all, with the Chiefs, he’s the highest-paid player in the league. And not only that, his current contract will see the quarterback tied down to the franchise till 2031!
With another decade of football left to play at Kansas, the quarterback has also been investing in the city’s other major sporting franchises.
Patrick Mahomes buys stake in MLS side Sporting Kansas City
Apart from being the star quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes is also the part-owner of the MLB franchise Kansas City Royals. And now adding to his ever-expanding sports franchise portfolio, Mahomes is now a part-owner of MLS side Sporting Kansas City.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to join Sporting Kansas City’s ownership team and strengthen my connection to the fans and the city I love,” Mahomes said in a statement. “Sporting is a community-oriented club and I am excited to continue supporting the growth of soccer in Kansas City.”

Mahomes fiancée, Brittany Matthews, is also part of the ownership group for Kansas City NWSL, an women’s soccer franchise that is part of the National Women’s Soccer League.
On the football front, Patrick Mahomes has high ambitions for the 2021 NFL season. Missing out on winning back-to-back Super Bowls last season, the quarterback and his side are looking to making to the big game once again.
