Legendary NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski gets the periodic nudging to return to football. And sometimes he obliges, kicking a field goal in this year’s Super Bowl LVII showdown in Phoenix, Arizona. However, since he hung up his cleats and helmet, his true calling seems to be giving back to people and living the life to fullest.

Even off-field, Gronkowski never fails to put a smile on the community’s face. The four-time Super Bowl champion recently added to the long list of donations and made a hefty transfer to the Fort Myers Police Athletic Club.

According to the FOX 4 Now coverage, the Police Athletic League, or the PAL, as it is more commonly called, administers social, cultural, educational, and recreational programs. And aids in community relief through “events and activities for the youth within the city of Fort Myers” at little to no cost.

The PAL program is also responsible for mentoring and teaching crucial life skills like “teamwork, honesty, and integrity, along with connecting the law enforcement and the youth in a positive way.” Being a Florida resident for a year during his fourth championship-winning year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Gronk resonates with the wants and needs of the Florida community, starting from the youth. Also, Gronk’s mother is a Fort Myers resident. And he’s been here before to party, back during his New England Lombardi-winning days.

This is not Rob’s first memorable charity contribution

While the PAL will forever be grateful for Rob Gronkowski’s generosity, they won’t be the first. Buffalo Bills safety, Damar Hamlin collapsed during a Bills-Bengals game the last season and had to be escorted off the field post-CPR. However, long before the accident, he had created a donation drive on his GoFundMe page for a toy drive. After a long period of insignificant donations, Gronkowski kick-started a new drive after Damar’s tragedy.

What made the donation even more unique was the amount Tom Brady‘s former offensive weapon belted out. Rob Gronkowski stayed in character when he wrote a check for $6900.

Besides the four and five-digit donations, Gronk has also spent a massive number to uplift the Boston community especially after spending the majority of his NFL career in Foxborough. No 87 and the Gronk Nation Youth Foundation donated $1.2 million in 2021 to renovate the Charlesbank Playground in Boston. No wonder the fans keep cheering for him to come back.
