Landing spot for Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers might want a fresh start as he approaches the final years of his career. And NFL insider Jeff Howe pointed out the San Francisco 49ers as a potential landing spot for the aging NFL legend.
“If Rodgers desires a new landscape, the 49ers immediately come to mind, but they don’t have a first-round pick until 2024 because they already moved up for Lance,” Howe said.
But Howe also pointed at Rodgers’ big money contract and the capital required to sign the QB due to it.
“Perhaps they can move Lance and flip that capital to acquire Rodgers, but would it be enough? That’s why Brady or retaining Jimmy Garoppolo feels more likely for San Francisco,” Jeff added.
Every NFL fan has grown accustomed to equating the Packers franchise with Rodgers. It is so difficult to imagine anybody else under center there. But due to a drop in Rodgers’ performance, the QB and the Packers might find parting ways to start a rebuild at Lambeau Field a decent option. But only if some other organization is willing to foot the huge contract the franchise signed with the QB.
An underwhelming season

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers did not imagine the kind of season they were heading into at the start of the campaign. Rodgers doesn’t look like the QB the fans know him to be. His health has contributed to that as the 2011 Super Bowl champion played most of the current season with injuries. He sustained a thumb injury in week five and played through it. But he had to leave the week 12 clash with the Philadelphia Eagles with an oblique muscle injury.
Aaron Rodgers leading the NFC (4th in the NFL) in TD passes with a broken thumb and ribs – all the while his best WR is a 2nd round FCS rookie that was a *bust* until week 9 – is maybe the wildest stat in the NFL this season.
