Did Patrick Mahomes just outshine Tom Brady, the NFL legend? Equity Sports CEO Chris Cabott, who has steered Mahomes’ career since his draft, revealed that Mahomes revamped his contract, securing a staggering $210.6 million from 2023 to 2026. The Chiefs plan to revisit the deal post-2026.

But, here’s the kicker- A three-time Super Bowl Champion Shannon Sharpe, still thinks he’s underpaid. Why? Well, it’s because in Mahomes five years as a starter, he’s consistently reached the AFC Championship game, appeared in two Super Bowls, and claimed the MVP title twice. Still, Sharpe didn’t forget to remind Mahomes of a career-defining quality of Brady.

Shannon Sharpe boldly states that no active quarterback even comes close to Mahomes’ record. Chad Johnson, co-host of Club Shay Shay, chimes in, emphasizing that no one in the league can match Mahomes’ resume. However, there’s a catch – Mahomes must stay healthy to remain Kansas City’s captain for success. As Sharpe puts it, “That’s what made Brady so great.” It wasn’t just the victories; it was the caliber of teammates he won with.

In the era of the New England Patriots‘ Super Bowl dominance, players had to check their egos at the door and prioritize teamwork over individual accolades. Sharpe explains, “They were perfect for that system. Because you played in New England, you left it [ego] at home.”

Coach Bill Belichick expected players to follow Brady’s lead and take pay cuts. Those who didn’t were shown the exit, “And if you didn’t, you had to move on. Logan Mankins, Ty Law, or Lawyer Milloy, you see Willie McGinest move on, and Vince Wilfork. I mean, they got no loyalty.” – Sharpe stated.

Interestingly, Sharpe mentioned, that the Kansas City Chiefs share a similar dynamic, with HC Andy Reid and Mahomes working in tandem to achieve success.

So, did Patrick Mahomes just step into the shoes of Tom Brady?
