The most anticipated game of the year will finally take place tomorrow when the Kansas City Chiefs will take over the Cincinnati Bengals. As if the pseudo-rivalry between the top quarterbacks of the teams was not enough, the City Halls started their own bizarre beef on Twitter.
The Mayor of Cincinnati first initiated the odd grumble. Aftab Pureval spoke against the elite QB, Patrick Mahomes. Therefore, to save his favorite quarterback from disrespectful claims, the Mayor of Kansas City ran to his aid.

Pureval declared Sunday as ‘They Gotta Play Us Day.’ He released an official proclamation that many fans found weird and cringe-inducing. The mayor asked Joe Burrow to “take a paternity test” to prove that he is not the father of the 27-year-old Mahomes.

“Joseph Lee Burrow, who’s 3-0 against Mahomes, has been asked by officials to take a paternity test confirming whether or not he’s his father,” Pureval said.
Although it was a joke, many fans thought it was distasteful. Not only that, but he also trolled Kansas City. When the disrespect was too much to take, Quinton Lucas wrote a tweet that received a lot of reactions from Kansas City fans.
Fans support Lucas but troll Pureval
The diss was so “weak” and “embarrassing” that the long-time partner and wife of Mahomes supported the Kansas City mayor’s response.
WEAK. & embarrassing. https://t.co/rOXixjtKgL

A fan suggested Lucas to stay humble against the mean words of the mayor of Cincinnati.
Just be like our team and stay humble.

A fan pointed out a historical error that Aftab Pureval made. The 40-year-old mayor trolled Kansas City because it shared the same name as its neighboring city. Also, eight years before Kansas became the 34th state in 1861, Kansas City was formed.
Please give him a history lesson:
Kansas City, MO was incorporated in 1853, eight years before Kansas became the 34th state. The Missouri city took its name from the Kansas River, which was inspired by the Kanza People, Native Americans of the Kaw Nation.— ForeverRoyal (@mizzoucpa) January 27, 2023
One would expect a Bengals fan to support their mayor. However, this fan did not want to associate themself with the mayor.
Us Bengal fans and Cincinnati residents do not claim him or his cringey stunt

Additionally, one fan stopped Lucas from doing what Pureval did.
Please don’t go tit for tat on this one… don’t do that to yourself. 😬

Another fan urges Mayor Lucas to stay “classy”.
Please please please stay your classy self! As a Chiefs fan, I would like to come face to face with him Sunday after a Chiefs win. I already know exactly what I will say!
