The NFC North matchup against the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings was something Aaron Rodgers may never forget. They started and entered the season opener as a dynamic team that was ready to crush their opponents. But they were anything but dynamic in their performance. Unimpressive as was their performance, the score was even worse.

The Vikings defeated the Packers with a score of 23-7. However, the first-ballot future Hall of Famer Richard Sherman talked about the Packers’ performance. And while he found faults in the members of the team, for him, A-Rod was the untainted man.
The biggest concern the Green Bay Packers faced was that the leading shot-caller had nobody to throw the ball to. It was difficult to watch Aaron Rodgers extend the play with nobody to catch. Especially, watching him try and fail again and again became painful. With Davante Adams out of the picture, it only left the team with young WRs.
While talking on his podcast, the former Seattle Seahawks cornerback only had sympathizing words to say about the four-time MVP award winner.
“There were too many mistakes, you know. And that’s something he’s not accustomed to and that, you know, he’s the MVP of the league. He played like A-Rod, you know,” said Sherman passionately.
Also, he declared that the Super Bowl-winning QB did his best in the game. “He’s dropping dimes, he’s hitting people where they’re supposed to be, he’s doing his thing. But you can’t drop the ball. You can’t have missed assignments. You can’t have miscommunications.” The team depends on rookie WRs and second-year players.

Other times Sherman stood for Aaron Rodgers
That was not the only time Sherman has boldly supported Rodgers. For some time, the star QB of the Packers showed he was unhappy with the franchise. And then, Optimus Prime stood to his defense.
On ESPN’s First Take, he said that A-Rod was “getting disrespected by Green Bay for a while.” And since then, many rumors about the elite quarterback leaving or retiring from the NFL have come up.
