The 2023 NFL Draft has given fans many moments to celebrate. While certain acquisitions made some teams better equipped than others, others celebrate heartwarming and humane moments on the big stage. With Aaron Rodgers headed to the New York Jets, their competitors down the hall also had to step up their game, and the 2023 NFL Draft provided plenty of opportunities to do so.

However, it wasn’t only the draft picks made by the Giants that drew the attention of their fans, but also a certain moment concerning their head coach, Brian Daboll, and the Giants’ fans couldn’t help but applaud their supreme leader.

The NFL Drafts can be a fairly tense environment, especially if your job could be potentially impacted by it. The same was the case for the Giants’ head coach Brian Daboll. The New York Giants certainly had huge expectations bringing in Daboll in 2022. Prior to that, Daboll spent his life garnering extensive coaching experience for 20 years in the NFL. While Daboll’s offensive game is well respected throughout the league, fans noticed another one of his interests during the drafts.

While fans loved the moment captured, the Giants’ front office and Coach Daboll seemed completely enamored with the NFL Draft. As fans continue looking for their entertainment, the Giants were focused on getting a better team and maybe they did.

Are the Giants better now?

Brian Daboll is not content with the Coach of the Year trophy, as he has been a voice of reason in the front office too. Speaking on his contribution, GM Joe Schoen applauded the coach, “[Daboll] actually executed his first trade, He initiated a trade with the Rams, so I congratulate him on that.” The trade allowed the Giants to swap for the  73rd pick of the draft, allowing them to secure wide receiver, Jalin Hyatt. The Giants also added CB Deonte Banks with the number 24th pick, and while Banks’ size and strength put him on par with some of the best, his assertiveness on the field still needs to be answered.

Teaming up Hyatt and Banks with the core of tight end Darren Waller and quarterback Daniel Jones opens up many possibilities for the Giants, and fans certainly hope Daboll will bring the same ‘smoky’ attitude next season as well.
