Travis Kelce may very well end his career as the greatest tight end to ever grace the gridiron, after recently tying Rob Gronkowski’s NFL postseason touchdown record. However, Kelce’s on-field genius doesn’t necessarily translate to real life. And Kansas’ no. 87’s spelling skills were recently brought in for questioning.
The Kansas City Chiefs TE and brother Jason hosted the Super Bowl LVII special edition of their ‘New Heights’ podcast. And one fan posed a potent question for the brothers in the rare scenario of a tie-breaker. However, he came equipped with the best solution.

The fan put the tied Super Bowl equation in the mix. And he didn’t make it easy on Travis and Jason. He played with a scenario that saw triple overtime with the Philadelphia Eagles and no winners. And his call? Decide the winner by means of a spelling bee competition.
Travis didn’t really agree with the fan resolution owing to his poor spelling skills. “F—,” Travis said immediately after hearing the challenge. And he is only spreading the truth. The younger Kelce isn’t as proficient with his spelling as he is blocking or running for open spaces on the field.

Kelce has previously failed to spell out some hard ones like ‘indicative’, ‘inhibition’, and ‘infallible’ on his podcast. And fans knew the tie-breaker would be a challenge. “Thank god he’s hot,” one fan said. “If he could write on paper, it could help,” another Travis lover wrote. “As an English teacher, I feel Travis would have given me many gray hairs,” one disgruntled educationist commented.
What did Kelce have to say about the test?
“Spelling is overrated. We have a spell-check,” one wise fan wrote. And Travis agreed with him. On hearing about the spelling bee challenge, the league’s leading TE straight-up replied, “that’s unfair. That seems like a one-sided coin flip.”

It’s not like Patrick Mahomes‘ trusted weapon didn’t even attempt to spell the words. Kelce tried. And he even called for help. When Travis struggled with the words, he resorted to the primal Spelling Bee defense. “Can I get the origin,” TK87 sheepishly asked. “Asking for the origin like it would help,” one fan commented with some laughing emojis.
